Why work and homeschool at eumelia
The large eco houses
Eumelia offers accommodation in elegant eco-houses, each 6o square meters, with a separate bedroom with enough space for the kids. There’s a large bathroom and a comfortable living area with a fully equipped kitchen, a work area, a sitting room with two sofa beds and enough storage space for everyone. The weather is mild around here and all eco houses are on the ground floor with their own private patio with dining table and direct access to the estate and the farm.
The farm experience
Residents get to live in a farm and meet with the owners, who raise their beautiful family in said farm! Everyone is invited to pick fruits and vegetables (if they want to), learn about olive oil production, participate in wine making, meet the ancient olive trees and of course learn to separate their waste and use the organic waste to feed the animal farms. All meals served are farm to table and vegeatarian, with fruits and vegetables coming from eumelia farm, while dairy from nearby producers.
A day at eumelia
You can start your morning with an easy run around the estate, some sun salutations, have a nice family breakfast watching the sun over the olive groves, before you seek the tranquility of your eco-house or the main building to get some work done.
Homeschooling the kids will for sure include an introduction to sustainability and waste management, as well as learning about foraging and some basic farming – anything to be close to nature and learn from it.
Why spend time in Laconia
One of the writer’s most favorite locations in Greece, Laconia offers some amazing scenery, unlike anywhere in Greece. Mystras castles monument is close by, as well as the medieval town of Monemvasia. Elafonissos, a small island with one of the top beaches in Europe, is no more than 3 hours away. Mani with its old stonebuilt villages and cobblestone alleys is less than 40 minutes away, with its beaches with turquioise waters being even closer to eumelia.
Spending a month or more in eumelia will not only be a great opportunity to live in a real life farm with luxury amenities; it is also a great spot to explore the best of Greece from!
