The Most Special Family Stays In Greece

Greece is famous for its hotels. Some of the most unique stays are here, all offering an accommodation experience like no other. Some of them are, luckily enough, family friendly! These are 3 of our favorites, whose history, design and amenities make them really stand out – and I bet you don’t know them and you haven’t even heard of the area they’re located!

Arapakis Historic Castle

Stay in a traditional Maniot tower dating back at 1810

Arapakis Historic Tower is not the only tower turned hotel in the area of Mani. It is though the only one with spacious family apartments and a playground! Usually, Maniot towers are adults only, they are a bit dangerous for younger kids, very small and located in hard to get village corners. This fully restored castle however is family friendly and not only for its playground and space. There are separate rooms for kids, sitting room, fully equipped kitchens, local breakfast and large patios. The old castle has been fully restored, carefully preserving its history, which you can see in the Mill (the apartment we stayed at) and throughout the building.

Ninemia Stay & Play

The only guesthouse in a theme park

There aren’t many theme parks in Greece, let along one that has games for everyone, from babies to teenagers.  And The Newton Park is the only one that is right next to one of the most family friendly stays in Greece. Ninemia Stay & Play has a playground, bicycles, sip lines, play area in the restaurant and play corners in every apartment. It also offers pony rides and train rides and all that next to a theme park and in a vast estate next to the river!

Lithari Villas

One of the residences of the British governor in the 1860’s

Built on an olive-clad hillside in the hamlet of Geromonachos Villa Eleni, originally one of the residences of the British governor in the 1860’s, offers the guest a unique setting coloured with a touch of history! Exteriorly the local limestone prevails, whilst the interior has been renovated with simple Mediterranean décor, and offers pleasant and relaxing spaces. With 3 separate bedrooms, 3 bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, inside and outside sitting and dining areas and a lovely private swimming pool, the 178 sm of Villa Eleni offer a comfortable stay even to big families!

Kipi Suites

Traditional Cottage from the 1840s

A trip to Zagori is a soecial experience in itself. Especially, if you stay in a traditional cottage dating back in 1840! The old building still stands, the stone walls can be seen in the reception while the cellar is right downstairs. Around it, more buildings were added a few years ago, all in the local color, carefully preserving the traditional architecture of the area. 8 spacious luxury suites form Kipi Suites, which also offer baby and kids meals, board games, homemade breakfast, breathtaking mountain and river views and a chance for a trip back in time…

Eumelia Organic Agrotourism Farm

Agrotourism With Kids

It’s not often you get to experience life in a sustainable farm. And it’s not easy to do it with kids, unless it’s made easy. Eumelia is family ran and family oriented, providing everything you’ll need for your baby and kids, including baby monitor, bath tub, travel cot, toys, meals adaptations for kids and safety. It’s also one of the few real agrotourism hotels in Greece, with farm tours, sustainability workshops, farm to table gastronomy and olive oil tasting!
