A precious crack in time, a travel through experiences reviving the authentic Mykonian way of life. In the heart of the cosmopolitan island, a family of three generations continues to live the local way of life safeguarding the tradition and customs delivered through centuries.
Located at Ano Mera village, a traditionally decorated house consisted of different facilities for living, farming and keeping up with everyday chorus, stands as an open-air interactive museum of the way of life, as our grand-parents used to live.
Like a tangible time capsule, it encourages guests to take part in various activities infusing the feeling of belonging in a different era. Boasting folklore workshops, lush gardens, domestic animals and secluded routes, RIZES initiated guests into nostalgic moments and stories under the lamp, around a wooden table where they create unique, lifetime memories. With deep love and respect for their RIZES (roots), the Zouganeli family revives a traditional domestic unit in full function. Three generations share their connection to the land and their respect to nature running an autonomous residence where they produce their own livelihood and invite guests to participate in seasonal chorus.

Guests can enjoy a private guided tour through the tradition and the folk history of an
authentic daily life, they can cook a traditional Mykonian recipe for lunch and other culinary treasures! In the morning, they can knead and bake the bread in an authentic stone oven following the old fashioned process, while afterwards, a magical sunset at the yard of an old traditional house awaits them on the top of the mountain overlooking the endless blue along with rich local delicacies.

On a daily basis, the verdant garden provides fresh seasonal vegetables for the breakfast and the daily menu of the restaurant that guests can taste in the heart of the farmstead.
Handmade delicacies, seasonal dishes and local recipes along with spirits and drinks are served on the wooden tables in the yard with the crops and trees as the natural backdrop.

The RIZES – Folklore Farmstead family has now grown. Faithful to its tradition and values, it lays a solid foundation of alternative experiences on the island of Mykonos. IPPOS is the complete riding center on the island, where guests can channel the other side of the island and stay wild! The experienced team and successful trainers are inviting them to the magical world of horses running lessons for all ages, organizing tours to the farmstead or around beautiful trails on horseback or by a traditional carriage.
