The Maniot Tower

Petreas Tower dates back to 1790, when it was built as a fortress. the traditional crossbows or loopholes in its elevated parts which were intended to confront the intruders, have been preserved even today.
With its minimalistic and austere style, made completely of the abundant material of the place, the stone, it is in perfect harmony with the landscape of Mani.
Externally it is surrounded by a stone courtyard overlooking the olive trees all the way to the sea, while internally it has three floors, the upper, the lower and the basement. The three spacious bedrooms of the house can accommodate up to six people while at the same time the living room, the kitchen, and the home office offer a feeling of warmth and comfort.

The historic Petreas Tower is situated in the charming sea town of Kardamyli. Right in the heart of the Old Town and next to the Byzantine Church and Mourtzinos Tower, 3 hours from Athens and 40 minutes away from the city and the airport of Kalamata, the Tower offers peace and quiet, but it’s also close to everything.
As it’s in Messinian Mani, Petreas Tower is ideally located for you to explore those amazing nearby beaches of Foneas and Delfinia, Stoupa and Kalogria. But also to discover the wild beauty of Laconian Mani and the amazing Taygetos peninsula.
You can be at a fish tavern at the cute Kitries cove (35 minutes by car) one day and enjoy some fine dining at Kardamyli marina the next. Ritsa beach and its traditional taverns are just 5-10 minutes away as well.

The historic Petreas Tower is ideal for a family of up to 6 people. There are two courtyards, as well as a rooftop with panoramic views. On the basement, there’s a fully equipped kitchen, the study and one bathroom. On the lower floor, you’ll find the living area, the second bathroom and the master bedroom which accesses the rooftop. The second bedroom is on the upper floor and it features two single beds, while there’s another “secret” bedroom further up, with a double bed and amazing views. There’s also a private parking space.
